Who is the yoga teacher at No Place Like OM?
Suzanne is a Registered Nurse with fifteen years of psychiatric nursing experience.
She also maintains consistent daily personal yoga practice.
200 hour Certification/ Kripalu Yoga Certified. Extensive Anatomy and Physiology knowledge and Advanced Asana Training and 40 hours Shiva Rae training.

 Suzanne is a 2009 graduate of the Mindfullness Certification Program sponsored by the Institute for Meditation and Psychotherapy  Center  Cambridge, Masssachusetts.

Suzanne combines more than a decade of successful teaching experience with over 15 years of intensive yoga training and teaching. She holds a BA from the University of Massachusettes  and is certified to teach Seconday Education.

Suzanne brings valuable experience as an educator and yoga instructor and has worked successfully in group settings and one on one with individuals. She also teaches yoga for kids, corporate yoga, and private lessons. No place like OM was immediately successful.
People love the idea that a yoga teacher can come to you in your home, or attend the home based yoga studio.

NURSING EXPERIENCE

From the start Suzanne was attracted to Child Psychiatric Nursing and found that her teaching backgound complemented her nursing career. Suzanne has worked for the past ten years at leading child psychiatric hospitals in the area, namely, Franciscian Children's Hospital, Boston, MA and currently at Butler Hospital in Rhode Island. At both facilities she experimented with Yoga instruction as part of the exercise component within the existing milieu programs. Her findings were that particularly among the Pervasive Develpmental Delay population, Yoga was a perfect match. Children with emotional/psychological problems responded well to the calming effects of yoga. Even extremely ADHD children were able to participate in yoga classes and gain substantial benefits.

Suzanne was so excited about bringing yoga into the lives of children with special needs. She received formal Yoga training from Kripalu, a world renowned yoga center in Lenox, Massachusetts.

Suzanne's hope is that she can ignite enthusiasm among both therapeutic and educational disciplines assisting in the intergration of yoga instruction within these modalities.
